The invention relates to a front seat (1) for a motor vehicle or the like, which front seat (1) has a tubular frame (3) or the like and a central rail (4) which is used to adjust the seat and is provided with a row of passage apertures (5), a receptacle for the releasable attachment of an accessory (2,44) for the vehicle or the like being provided on the front of the front seat. In order to permit the fixing of accessories of a motor vehicle in a simple fashion, without there being a need for installation of special fastening bores, either in the interior of the motor vehicle or on the motor vehicle seat, it is proposed according to the invention that the receptacle should have a holder (9) which is provided with at least two arms (24) which extend freely backwards therefrom at a distance from one another and the ends (12) of which are hook-shaped and grip around the tubular frame (3) or the like of the seat (1), an extension (27) which projects backwards and is attached to the front end of the central rail (4) being fastened in the central region of the holder (9). <IMAGE>
