PURPOSE:To speed up a pulse forming circuit (PFN) by adding a diode and a switch for discharging energy to a modulator which applies a high-voltage pulse to a transmission tube in a pulse radar transmitter or the like so as to amplify a transmission signal. CONSTITUTION:The PFN1 and PFN2 are charged at the same time by a charging circuit 7, switches 10, 11 are turned off at that time and the state after charging is held by a charging diode 8. When the switch 10 is turned on, since a diode 9 is biased in opposite polarity, only the energy stored in the PFN1 is supplied to a load 6, the width of the high-voltage pulse depends only on the PFN1 and the energy remains charged in the PFN2 in this case. An energy is supplied to the PFNs by the operation of the charging circuit 7 again, both the PFNs 1, 2 are charged into the initial state, and when the switch 11 is turned on, the energy of the PFNs 1, 2 is both supplied to the load 6 through the diode 9, the pulse width becomes wider because the PFNs 1, 2 are combined. |
