A manometer is described whose electrical switching device consists of a reed contact. The reed contact is operated by a magnet which is mounted on a part of the manometer which moves as a function of pressure. The reed contact can be arranged in the interior of the manometer housing, or even outside the housing. Bistable contacts can also be used as well as normal reed contacts. The switching point can be set easily and reproducibly by displacing the reed contact.
