This device comprises, among other things, a differential amplifier, one input of which is a variable measuring input and at the other input of which a variably adjustable constant voltage is present. A decrease in a very high insulation resistance can be indicated without the measured load having already to be disconnected at this time. This dispenses with a separate resistance network for establishing galvanic connections of windings of a load which, per se, are isolated from one another with the aid of a disconnected star/delta switch. The use of adjustable resistances provides flexibility with respect to the variably adjustable fixed voltage.
