PURPOSE:To prevent color shear by reading picture elements where a filter color is the same as the color of the filter of reading picture elements among picture elements closest to the end point of correcting vector at each picture element calculated so as to correct the distortion of an optical lens of an electronic still camera. CONSTITUTION:When the optical image is formed on a phototdetecting face of an image pickup element, a grating of straight line form is formed into a grating of pin-cusion form because of distortion of the lens. For example, the optical information to be made incident subtantially to a picture element A4 is made incident to a picutre element B4, and also the substantial color filter to be G is stored as Y with color modulation in a memory. In reproduction, in order to correct the distortion of lens at first, either the picture element A4 or C4 is read, which is the closest to the picture element B4 to be read as picture information corresponding to the picture element B4 and uses the G being a color filter at the location corresponding to the picture element A4 as the filter color. |
