Mounted on a side wall of the copier (1) by means of a hook-shaped retaining element (4) engaging in this side wall is an additional bearing surface (3) for the originals to be photocopied. Mounted detachably below the additional bearing surface (3) is a stapling device (5, 5a-5c) for the photocopied sets (7) of copies. The stapling device is preferably formed by a stapler of conventional type, which operates automatically upon the insertion of a set of copies and which preferably simultaneously executes more than one instance of stapling distributed over the longitudinal side of the set (7) of copies. <IMAGE>
