PURPOSE:To promote better mutual understanding among conference participants and to indicate clearly a speaker by transmitting and receiving voice data and position data of the speaker while multiplexing them. CONSTITUTION:Still picture communication conference terminal devices 1A and 1B having respectively display sections 2A, 2B, microphones 4A, 4B, cameras 7A, 7B, speakers 13A, 13B, memories 9A, 9B and control sections 12A, 12B for them are connected via communication networks 16, 17, a scene of a conference room of a remote communication terminal device is displayed on each display section and a conference is held among conference participants being communication terminal devices. Then, each communication terminal device detects the speaker of conference participants at the own terminal side by discriminating sections 5A, 5B, the voice data by the speaker and the control information representing the position of the speaker are transmitted to the remote communication terminal device as the multiplexed signal, and the remote communication terminal device displays a mark for displaying clearly a speaker on the scene of the remote conference room displayed and superimposed so as to display clearly the speaker based on the received control information.
