The present invention relates to valve units and systems incorporating valve units, such as may be employed in for example, dairy engineering, brewing plant or chemical engineering. The valve unit (1) comprising a fluid valve (3) and a valve control unit (2) comprising means to provide a continuous local visual indication of the operative condition of the valve by illumination of an indicator lamp (16).
