PURPOSE:To achieve a decoration for a plastic molding by a method wherein a pattern or the like is printed on a molding with an ink and after a layer for preventing the shifting of a dye is applied thereon, a dye is shifted into the molding by heating to prevent scattering of a printing dye into the atmospheric air and to prevent pollution of the surface thereof except for the printing part thereof. CONSTITUTION:A pattern, character, diagram or the like is printed on a plastic molding (e.g. an epoxy resin, urethane resin and polyethylene terephthalate) 1 using an ink 2 containing a sublimating dye or a hot-melt shifting dye and then, a dye shift prevention layer (e.g. a resin layer made of polyvinyl alcohol and methylcellulose, which is dissolved, swollen or peeled by water or a water containing a surfactant) 3 is applied to the whole surface of a body to be printed or a required part thereof and the dyes are thermally shifted into the plastic molding by heating. |
