PURPOSE:To obtain a multi-stage type printer capable of increasing the speed of printing and having a high reliability by using a system in which a paper feeder is operated only when the operation of printing and carrying means is stopped and a shifter is operated. CONSTITUTION:A paper feeding roller 14 is turned through a control gear 22 by the on-off control of a first solenoid 18 and a second solenoid 42. The shifting operation of type belts 3a and 3b is made through a shift gear 43 by the on-off control of the second solenoid 42, and a carrying cam 41 is turned through a printing-carrying gear 9 by the on-off control of the first solenoid 18. Only when the operation of the printing-carrying gear 9 is stopped and the shift gear 43 is operated, the paper feeding roller 14 is operated and thereby the paper feeding operation can be made with proper timing. |
