PURPOSE:To produce sintered ore with high suction efficiency and reduction ratio by disposing an air collecting box under a pallet in the upper stream side and an air collecting box above the pallet in the down stream side in a transfer region for sintering raw material and supplying dividely the sintering raw materials in two layers. CONSTITUTION:Sintering raw material 1 is fed from a charging hopper 4 to attain about half the height of the material 1 layer at which said material is used to be charged in the prior art. After the material 1 is fired on the top surface in an ignition furnace 5, air is ventilated from above to below by an air collecting box 3 and while a molten zone 2 by combustion is expanded in a vertical direction, the material is moved and calcined to sintered ore 11. The suction power of a blower 10 is adequately selected during this time and the calcination of the material 1 is completed in the position below a charging hopper 14. On the other hand, coke 7 is fed out onto the sintered ore 11 from a coke charging hopper 6 and is fired in an ignition furnace 15. The material 1 is fed out onto the ore from the hopper 14. The air is ventilated by a ventilation box 13 form below to above and the zone 2 is moved, by which the material is calcined to form sintered ore 11.
