The lock includes a check lever 13 axially movable upon rotation of a key-actuated cylinder 3 into locking engagement with a locking rod 11 to lift the latter clear of engagement with a steering shaft (not shown). When the key-actuated cylinder 3 is turned back and the key 4 is pulled out, the check lever 13 is pulled back out of locking engagement with the locking rod 11 which then locks the steering. shaft As the check lever 13 is thus retracted, it depresses a control member 17 into a key slot 3b in the key-actuated cylinder 3.
