PURPOSE:To obtain a metallic porous body suitable for use in environment at a high temp. by coating a metallic porous body made of a two-layered skeleton of Ni and Cr with an Ni-Cr type brazing filler metal contg. Si and by carrying out heating and rapid cooling. CONSTITUTION:A metallic porous body made of a two-layered skeleton of Ni and Cr is coated with an Ni-Cr type brazing filler metal contg. Si such as 19Cr- 10Si-Ni. The coated body is dried and put in a furnace evacuated or filled with a hydrogen atmosphere. The body is heated to the m.p. of the brazing filler metal, and it is rapidly cooled to obtain a metallic porous body having an Ni-Cr alloy layer formed on the surface of the skeleton having a three-dimensional network structure. This metallic porous body has high heat resistance and can be stably sued in an atmosphere at a high temp. for a long period, so it is applicable to the exhaust filter of an internal-combustion engine. |
