摘要 PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of cavitation damage by a method in which a thin film is independently provided in an ink storage chamber whose wall is provided with a nozzle, a heating resistor is provided to the thin film, a through hole is provided in the wall on the opposite side of the nozzle, and a specific sound absorber is packed into the hole. CONSTITUTION:A heating resistor 30 is provided in an ink storage chamber 50 whose wall is provided with an ink jet nozzle 55 and electrically energized to generate steam bubbles, and ink is jetted from a nozzle 55. In such an ink jet printer, a thin film (of about 1mum thickness) made of an inert substance, e.g., silicon carbide, etc., is independently provided in the ink storage chamber 50, and the heating resistor 30 is provided to the thin film. A through hole 80 is provided in the wall on the opposite side of the nozzle 55 and a sound absorber 90 is packed into the through hole 80. The sound absorber 90 is selected from ones (e.g., silicon oil) having an acoustic impedance (whose real number) nearly equal to that of ink, a high boiling point, and a thermal conductivity matching the maximum iterative speed of heating in thermal relaxing time.
