PURPOSE:To make the evaporation of a sample owing to discharge uniform in the depth direction by gushing a gas from the gas introducing hole provided at the center of a counter electrode toward the sample. CONSTITUTION:A counter electrode 6 facing a sample 5 placed on a light emitting stand is formed to have 120-130 deg. opening angle at the tip 6a and is provided with a gas introducing hole 7 at the center thereof. If spark discharge is generated without oscillation, the discharge spreads as the tip of the counter electrode is made into a concentrical circular shape; moreover, the probability of the discharge in the central position of the electrode 6 is decreased by the gas gushing from the hole 7. The surface part of the sample 5 is therefore evaporated uniformly overall in the depth direction and a discharge trace 10 having a flat bottom is formed. Then the separate emission of light from plating layers 5a, 5b is made possible and the coating weight of plating which is previously difficult to be analyzed is analyzed with high accuracy. |
