<p>PURPOSE:To reduce metallic ions in a liq. and to prevent corrosion due to the ions by bringing a metal which is electrochemically baser than the metal contained in the liq. into effective contact with the liq. CONSTITUTION:Water contg. metallic ions (Cu ions) is introduced from an inlet pipe 2 into a metallic ion adsorption chamber 5 contg. chips 6 of a metal (Al) which is electrochemically baser than Cu. Cu ions in the water contact with the Al chips 6 and deposit as Cu on the Al surface. Al dissolves in the water, reacts with hydroxide ions, and deposits as aluminum hydroxide. In said apparatus, Cu ions in the water are effectively removed, and the corrosion of steel pipe is prevented.</p> |
