PURPOSE:To smoothen the surface of a plastically worked Fe-Cr-Co permanent magnet alloy by washing the surface of the alloy with a soln. contg. an acid and a salt of the acid. CONSTITUTION:Starting materials for an Fe-Cr-Co permanent magnet alloy are melted and cast. The resulting cast alloy is subjected to hot or cold working, soln. heat treatment, isothermal treatment in a magnetic field, aging, and plastic working to obtain an Fe-Cr-Co permanent magnet alloy. This alloy is put on a belt conveyor and passed through a soln. contg. H2SO4 and Na2SO4 or a soln. cong. HCl and NaCl to smoothen the surface as well as to clean it. |
