PURPOSE:To clearly print even when adjacent dots are concurrently driven by making the tips of needles smaller in a printer in which magnetic ink film is formed on the front of the head and ink is supplied to the tips of the needles. CONSTITUTION:A magnet 17 is formed on the tip of each needle (wire) 15 of a wire dot printer head 12. Paired magnetic poles 20 are provided to insert the tip of each needle 15 in the retracting position, magnetic ink film 24 is formed between the poles 20, and ink is supplied to the tip of each needle 15. In such a printer, the tip of each needle 15 is made smaller.
