<p>This relates to apparatus for feeding sheets along a flow path in a system in which each sheet must arrive at a given point at or very close to a given time. A sensing means located at a given point on the flow path senses the arrival of the sheet and applies a signal to a comparator which also receives clock pulses. The output of the comparator controls diverters which guide the sheet along a normal path (b, c) or along a second flow path (a), downstream of the detector, which provides an alternative to a portion (b) of the main flow path and is a fraction of a sheet length longer than the said portion, or along a third flow path (d) downstream of the detector which provides an alternative to a portion (c) of the main flow path and is a fraction of a sheet length shorter than the latter portion of the main flow path. In this way, the timing of the notes on later portions of the flow path is adjusted. <IMAGE></p> |
