<p>24687 An hydraulic elevator installation includes an elevator cab having an overhead frame member capable of supporting the weight of the cab. An hydraulic jack, optionally a telescoping cylinder jack, the cylinder of which is mounted in the hoistway,extends upwardly through the car. The plunger of the jack is coupled to the overhead frame member such that the plunger carries the overhead frame member and thereby the weight of the car. Preferably, the jack is disposed in the door return column located in the forward portion of the cab near the center of gravity of the cab.</p> |
