PURPOSE:To prevent a web from creasing by providing a tension regulation means to increae the tension on both side ends along the transfer direction of the web near the downsteam side of a platen roller. CONSTITUTION:On both end parts and a printing area 6a of a thermal transfer paper conveying guide 8c provided near the downstream side of a platen roller 6, that is, the nearest to the platen roller 6 on the winding side of a thermal transfer paper, projections 20 of a tension regulation means are provided. Thereby, the tension is concentrated to the projections 20 waving from a widthwise high-tension part nearer to the winding side than a thermal transfer paper conveying guide 8c, and consequently, the tension is widthwise distributed to be high at both ends with projections 20 and weak in the printing area 6a in the middle to be almost uniformed. This construction permits to prevent a thermal transfer paper 4 from creasing and remove the failure of printing for sure.
