Device for indicating when an animal begins to give birth to its young, which device comprises a temperature sensor constructed in the form of a probe (1) and introduceable into the vagina of female domestic animals, said sensor having at its end nearest to the vagina exit a cable (11) which is connectable to a transmitter supported by the animal (7), characterised in that the probe (1) is elongated, the introduction end (4) is calotte-shaped and has a radially arranged groove (3), and the probe (1) has an encircling flange (2) which is inserted in the groove (3), constructed as a cloverleaf rosette, connected releasably to the probe (1), and situated radially and at right angles to the longitudinal axis of the probe (1), which flange is made of an elastic material which is resistant to faeces, especially rubber.</p> |
