PURPOSE:To increase the lifetime of a discharging gap switch by forming an electron beam generator at one pole side of a main discharger, and introducing an electron beam through the electrode into the main discharger, thereby reducing the consumption of the electrode. CONSTITUTION:A main discharging electrode 12 is provided at one end of an insulating cylinder 11, and an electron beam electrode 13 is provided at the other end. The both electrodes 12, 13 are partitioned by a main discharging opposite electrode 14 and an electron beam opposite electrode 15, a main discharger 17 in which a high voltage insulating gas 16 is sealed, an electron beam generator 18 in which the interior is evacuated in vacuum, and a vacuum chamber 19 which communicates with both are formed. The electrode 15 is formed of a thin film capable of passing the beam. The main discharge of the discharger 17 is inducted by an electron beam E generated from an electron beam generator 18. |
