PURPOSE:To reuse a developer which did not contribute to development with a simple constitution by supplying the developer to the other end of a carrying body through an electrode group provided on the carrying body, and thereafter, resupplying it to one end by gravity. CONSTITUTION:Electrodes 131, 132... provided on the developer carrying body 8 are scanned successively, and driven by AC power source 14-16, to generate a traveling waveform electric field traveling toward the other end from one end of the carrying body 8 and the developer 7 is carried to the other end of the carrying body 8. Subsequently, the developer 7 which reaches the other end of the carrying body 8 is moved by an operation of gravity along an inclined bottom face 5 of a developer vessel 6, and resupplied to one end of the carrying body 8. Accordingly, a developer which did not contribute to the development is reused by an unnecessary and simple constitution such as a return device, etc.
