PURPOSE:To improve a quality of a transfer picture and its stability by providing an air gap of a prescribed interval between an image supporting body and a rotating body for transfer, and applying the voltage so that its electric field intensity obtains a prescribed value. CONSTITUTION:A developer image 12 formed on an Se photosensitive body 11 flies and is attracted electrostatically onto a transfer roller 13 when a voltage is impressed to the transfer roller 13, and also carried to a fixing roller 15 side by a rotation of the transfer roller 13. On the other hand, by synchronizing with it, a transfer paper 20 is led in between the transfer roller 13 and the fixing roller 15, and the developer image 12 on the transfer roller 13 is transferred and also fixed by pressure. Also, an air-gap between the photosensitive body 11 and the transfer roller 13 is set to 18mu-300mu, and when the voltage is impressed so that the electric field intensity obtains 3.0X10<4>-6.0X104V/cm, the transfer efficiency is saturated, and the part on the transfer roller 13 obtains good transfer area. In this way, a quality of a transfer picture and its stability are improved. |
