PURPOSE:To control activation speed and prolong the discharge duration when a layer built heat cell is formed by arranging a heat generation agent between single cells by providing a heat buffer body made of inorganic salt between the heat generation agent and a collector body. CONSTITUTION:A single cell is formed by arranging a negative electrode 5 and a positive electrode 6 made of a mixed molding body of the positive electrode material and an electrolyte between the negative and positive electrode collector bodies 1 and 2 and a layer built type heat cell is formed by laminting a plural sets of single cells through a heat generation agent 7 and connecting them in series. In this case, a heat buffer body 9 made of a mixture of lithium chloride, potassium chloride, and salt chloride is arranged between the heat generation agent 7 and the positive electrode collector body 1 or negative electrode collector body 2. As a result, when the heat generation agent 7 is in flames, the heat buffer body 9 is melted and stores heat and then buffers the temperature fall of the battery. At the same time, by varying the number of buffer bodies 9, activation speed can be controlled and the discharge duration can be adjusted. |
