The dial (2) extends beyond the bezel (4) of the glass, its overhanging portion (2a) having the same appearance as its central portion. Thus the bezel (4) is simply placed on the dial (2) and is held by screws (11) which grip from below. It follows from this that the outer portion of the bezel (4) may exhibit the most diverse shapes without any other element of the case having to be modified. These diverse shapes of the bezel (4), combined with the fact that the dial (2), whose appearances and materials may also be very diverse, seems to extend beyond the bezel (4), make it possible to produce watches of very diverse appearance, and by using very simple means. <IMAGE>
