PURPOSE:To provide a sharp development by using p-dimethylaminobenzaladine as a positive charge controlling agent. CONSTITUTION:The p-dimethylaminobenzaladine expressed by the constitutional formula I is incorporated as a positive charge controlling agent in a toner. Resins ordinarily used for electrophotography are applicable to a binder resin which is an essential component. The p-dimethylaminobenzaladine is added at 1-20wt%, more preferably 2-10wt% to the basic resin. If <=1wt%, the electrostatic charging quantity of the toner is not enough and if >=20wt%, the uniform mixing with the resin is difficult, and the variance in charging quantity increases hence the image formed has uneven densities. The charge controlling agent itself is yellowish and therefore if said agent is kneaded and ground together with the resin, a yellow toner can be produced. Color toners of red, blue, green, etc. can be produced simply by adding corresponding coloring materials to the resin and using said charge control agent in combination therewith. |
