PURPOSE:To effect simple and positive temperature control, by controlling temperature basing upon a voltage in a pumping range generated in a solid electrolyte oxygen sensor. CONSTITUTION:A constant electric current is supplied from a constant current supply means 5 to an oxygen-ion electro-conductive board 1 of solid electrolyte oxygen sensor arranged in a gas G to be measured and the sensor is driven; at the same time, a electric voltage V generated in the electro-conductive board 1 is measured by a voltage measuring means 6. Next, when the voltage V emerges into a pumping range and becomes a pumping voltage Vp, a signal is delivered from the voltage measuring means 6 to the following comparing means 7. A voltage difference, DELTAV (Vo-Vp), i.e. difference between the standard pumping voltage Vo relative to the standard temperature of To input beforehand and input pumping voltage Vp, is computed and the balance is delivered to the following heater controlling means 8 as an output. By controlling a calorific value of a heater H heating the sensor, the temperature of sensor Tp can be controlled into the standard temperature To. |
