PURPOSE:To prevent a contact surface of a seal portion with a shaft portion from being damaged when it passes the large-diameter portion by forming the seal portion of a seal lip like a circular arc in section. CONSTITUTION:A shaft sealing seal has a reinforcing ring 2 buried in a mount portion 1 formed of rubber elastic material, and two circular seal lips 3 are extended from one end of the mount portion 1 in such a manner as to incline with respect to a shaft, so that the inner peripheral forward end portions form seal portions 4. A projecting portion 5 is solidly formed near the seal portion 4 on the peripheral surface of the seal lip 3. A plurality of such projecting portions 5 are intermittently disposed along the periphery. A surface forming the seal portion 4 is like a circular arc in section. Even if the inserted forward end of the large-diameter portion 7 is brought into contact with the seal portion 4, it is smoothly connected with the surface of the seal portion 4 formed like a circular arc in section, to be relatively moved. |
