PURPOSE:To simplify the operation of a lever device which is used for the brake lever of vehicles, etc., by making its structure in such a way that the movement of the lever device is transmitted to an operation rod by successively enlarging the lever ratio with two link pieces. CONSTITUTION:When the operating piece 1 of a lever 2 is depressed by means of stepping-on of a foot, etc., the lever 2 revolves around an intermediate point 3 and the other end of the lever 2 makes a circular arc motion. As two link pieces 5 and 6 displace in the course of the circular arc motion, the lever ratio successively changes. At the initial stage of the movement of the operating piece 1 an operating rod 7 makes a large movement, but, as the operating piece 1 moves further, the lever ratio becomes larger and the movement of the operating rod 7 becomes smaller. Moreover, as the operating piece 1 advances further, the doubled force applied to the operating rod 7 increases. Therefore, the operating force can be lightened by increasing the doubled force at the point which requires more force and fine adjustment can be made easily by enlarging the movement of the lever at a point which requires delicate adjustment. |
