The invention relates to the snow ski used singly and commonly called the monoski. This monoski consists of a wide runner 16 whose front end 1 is curved upwards in the form of a tip and a major part of the length of which has, running through it, a notch 2 starting from the rear 3 of the runner and located in the longitudinal axis of symmetry of the runner, determining two rear branches 5 and 6 on which the skier's boots will be fastened at 7 and 8, respectively. This notch 2 makes it possible to reduce the transverse rigidity of the conventional monoski, thus providing a certain freedom in the vertical direction for the skier's two legs with respect to one another, thus increasing his lateral balance while reducing his fatigue, particularly on hard snow. <IMAGE>
