This machine for sowing seeds in seed holes is of the type comprising a drum 1 with cells 2 situated below a hopper 26 for distributing seeds and in contact via a part of its periphery, with an endless belt 9 acting as a member for closing the cells 2 of the drum 1. The drum 1 is mounted to rotate freely on a spindle 4 carried by a flange 5 which is articulated to another spindle 12 carrying a drive member 15 with which there is associated a roller 6 interacting with the endless belt 9 which, passing over it and over two other rollers 7, 8 carried by the flange 5, is in contact with the periphery of the drum 1 in its zone situated between these two rollers 7, 8, this flange 5 having the shape of a shoe 25 in its zone situated below the lower roller 8, the assembly being arranged so that, by gravity, the freely articulating flange 5 bears on a stop 22 securely fastened to the chassis, and elastic means 24 being provided to allow the flange 5 and the members carried by it to rise up when its lower shoe 25 encounters an obstacle 38. <IMAGE>
