The invention relates to a device for holding a curved tile so as to prevent the tile from being lifted under the effect of a wind blowing up over the roof. The device of the invention comprises, on each of the standard tiles of a row of tiles to be held, a passage in the thickness of a flat part of the tile, a notch in a rib of the front edge of the underface of the tile and a hook to be fixed on the upper face of the tile, by means of a nail passing through the said passage. A standard tile T of the row is held by the hook fixed to the upper face of the subjacent tile T'. A leg 18 of the hook is pressed on the flat part 1 of the tile T while the other end of the hook is covered by the tile T. The invention applies to the holding of so-called "double verge" tiles which comprise a flat part between two curved parts. <IMAGE>
