Rudder for boat comprising a flap 2 mounted on its rear edge. Means of control of this flap 2 comprise a squadrant 4 which is mounted on the upper end of the flap and extends in the direction of a rudder main-piece 3 and comprises teeth which are concentric in relation to pivots 11A, 11B for mounting the flap on the main rudder 1, these teeth being in engagement with teeth which are concentric in relation to the rudder main-piece 3 with a fixed guide member 5 surrounding the rudder main-piece.
