METHOD FOR DETECTING SOLIDIFICATION IN A MIXED PHASE CONTAINER

Solidification in a mixed phase container is detected by locating radiation source and detector so that the radiation passing between them passes through the material in the container and detecting any drop in radiation sensed by the detector, which drop is due to the extra absorption of the radiation caused by the solidification. There may be a single source and a single detector or there may be a single central source and an array of peripheral detectors.
