PURPOSE:To improve the wear resistance of the resulting sliding contact material by adding small amounts of Sn and >=1 kind among Te, Sr and Zr to an alloy material having a specified composition consisting of Pd, Ag and Cu. CONSTITUTION:This sliding contact material is obtd. by adding, by weight, 1- 10% Sn and 0.5-3% >=1 kind among Te, Sr and Zr to an alloy material consisting of 30-50% Pd, 20-40% Ag and 20-40% Cu without changing the ratio in the composition. To the alloy material may be further added 0.01-0.5% Fe group metal. This sliding contact material can give a brush contact which causes a smaller extent of wear than a brush contact made of a conventional sliding contact material, has low and stable contact resistance, and hardly generates noise. |
