PURPOSE:To keep the stability and self-recovery property of a floating oil-fending dam against external forces such as the pressure of spillage oil, etc., by a method in which cylindrical hollow floats having different buoyancies are connected through connectors and an oil-barrier plate is fixed in the longitudinal direction to the lower end of the side float having greater buoyancy. CONSTITUTION:Cylindrical hollow floats 2 and 3 having different buoyancies, set at a given interval in parallel, are connected integrally in a truss form by a rigid connector 4. An oil-barrier plate 5 extending in the longitudinal direction of the float 2 is attached to the lower end facing water of the side float 2 having greater buoyancy to form an unit floating oil-barrier 1. By adjusting the buoyancy of the float 2, the oil-barrier 1 is partly floated on the same draft line of the sea surface. The safeness and self-recovery property of the barrier 1 against the external force such as the pressure of spillage oil, etc., can thus be maintained since rotation moment and distorsion stress are absorbed by the buoyancy of the float 3 having small buoyancy. |
