PURPOSE:To enable to impart a stable back tension to a ribbon for a long period of time with a simple construction, by integrally providing a braking member capable of making sliding contact with a spool. CONSTITUTION:At a bottom part position of amain body 34 of a cassette where a thermal printing ribbon body 35a is fitted, the spool 93 of the ribbon body 35a is provided, and the braking members 94 capable of making sliding contact with the ribbon body wound on the spool 93 are elastically provided in an appropriate number by cutting and riasing a bottom part 34c above a bottom surface 34d. Therefore, when the ribbon body 35a is set onto a boss shaft 40, the braking members 94 gives the ribbon body 35a a braking force as a rotation load. In this case, when an upper cover 34a is fitted to the main body 34, the ribbon body 35a is prevented from being levitated from the boss shaft 40, and the braking action is maintained to be constant. The braking members 94, 95 gives a constant braking effect to the rotation of the ribbon body 35a. Accordingly, excessive rotation of the ribbon body 35a in a ribbon letting-out direction due to the tension of the ribbon part down out to a printing mechanism is forcibly braked. |
