The invention relates to a device and a method for making nail-head contact with a component, by means of a wire which is guided in a nozzle. The nozzle itself has a conical part (K) between a cylindrical part (Z) and a recessed part (S), as a result of which it is significantly easier to lift the nozzle off the nail-head after making contact, since, as a consequence of the conical part (K), the tensile stresses acting on the nail-head contact are less so that said contact is reliably prevented from tearing off during lifting off from the component surface.
