PURPOSE:To ensure that matte images with high quality are transfer recorded by an ink layer, by providing a ruggedness at the interface between a base and a thermally transferable ink layer by a solvent treatment. CONSTITUTION:The ruggedness is provided at the interface 3 between the base 1 and the ink layer 2 by a solvent treatment. The base 1 may be a conventionally known film. The solvent treatment is carried out by a method wherein a solvent capable of easily dissolving the base 1 is infiltrated into a porous roll such as a non-woven fabric roll, the surface of the base 1 is brushed with the roll, and the solvent is evaporated off, or a method wherein a favorable solvent for the surface of the base 1 is sprayed to the surface to dissolve or swell the latter, and the solvent is evaporated off. |
