The invention relates to a stand (1), in which a stand pipe can be moved with respect to a foot part (3) or a supporting part (28) of a foot part (3) in the vertical direction, and this movement is used for driving a drive connection between the stand pipe (2) and at least three stand feet (4, 5, 6), the stand feet (4, 5, 6) being moved from a folded-together transportation position into an in-use position having approximately horizontal stand feet. In one preferred embodiment, a carrying part (29), on which the stand feet (4, 5, 6) are supported such that they can move in rotation and which is connected to the stand pipe (2), engages around a supporting part (28). In the region of the pivoting axes, the stand feet (4, 5, 6) carry toothed segments (13) which interact with toothed rods on the supporting part (28). In the event of a downwards movement of the stand pipe (2), the stand feet (4, 5, 6) are then moved from a folded-upwards transportation position into a horizontal position. The supporting part (28) and the carrying part (29) are pretensioned with respect to one another with the aid of a restoring spring (35), so that the folded-up transportation position is held by the restoring spring (35) and, in the in-use position, the carrying part (29) is locked against the supporting part (28) with the aid of a latching device (27). In order to erect the stand, it is necessary only to press on the standpipe (2), and the latching device (27) only has to be unlocked for dismantling.
