PURPOSE:To provide a titled device which enables inexpensive manufacture of a long-sized metallic member having quality higher than the quality of a hardly workable metal by rotating axially a well part attached radially with long-sized casting molds and charging a molten metal into the cavities communicating with the inside part thereof by centrifugal force. CONSTITUTION:A device for producing a long-sized metallic member is constituted by supporting a cylindrical well part 1 having a sprue 2 mounted with a heat insulating material 4 on the inside circumferential surface by bearings, 5A, 5B making said well axially rotatable by means of a belt 6 which is set on the ouside circumferential surface thereof and is driven by a rotating machine 7, and attaching radially casting molds 8 constituting long-sized cavities communicating with the inside of said well by means of a supporting ring 9. While the well part 1 is axially rotated in the stage of operating such device, the molten metal charged therein through the sprue 2 is introduced by centrifugal force into the cavities and is cast by venting gas from holes 10. The excess molten metal is removed by operating an opening and closing mechanism 3. The long-sized metallic member is thus easily obtd. by using a metal having low rollability and low machineability without generating mis-run, blowholes, etc. |
