<p>In this method of controlling data transfer, data is input or output through interface circuits (6 to 9) between a device providedwith a processor (10) and external devices (PPR, PRT, BCA, TAB) connected to connectors (CN1 to CN4), respectively, of the device. The method comprises a step of inputting through a control panel (4) data including at least the relationships between the connectors and the external devices connected thereto and the corresponding data transfer speeds required when data is transferred between those external devices and the processor, and storing this datain a memory (13); a step of identifying the connector of an external device which will transfer data between itself and the processor, using the data stored in the memory, and inputting the data transfer speed corresponding to the external device to an interface circuit connected to that connector; and a step of generating pulses of a frequency dictated by the input data transfer speed from a baud rate generator incorporated in the interface circuit, and transferring data between the processor and the external device in synchronism with these pulses. </p> |
