The invention relates to an auxiliary device for aiding fitting or repair work on cars. The auxiliary device is composed of a sledge-runner-like tilting frame which has a bearing bracket and which can be screwed to the wheel hub of a car. In order to carry out repair work on the underside of the motor vehicle, the front and rear wheels on one side are unscrewed and in place of each a tilting frame is screwed on. The tilting frame has a large radius and the motor vehicle is tilted over this large radius onto one side. Subsequently, with the motor vehicle tilted on one side, all the repair work on the underbody of the motor vehicle can be carried out.
