The invention relates to a distribution strip having a plurality of double connecting terminals which allow electrical conductors to be connected without stripping and are held in receptacles on the upper longitudinal sides of an insulating material body, the distribution strip having an approximately square cross-section. In order to allow overvoltage suppressors (6, 12) to be fitted to the distribution strip (1), retaining chambers (3) for overvoltage suppressors (6, 12), which chambers are separated by intermediate walls (10), are provided in the upper part of the distribution strip (1). Arranged on the side walls of the retaining chambers (3) adjacent to the connecting terminals (4) are contact springs (5) which are connected to the connecting terminals (4), parts of an earthing rail (7, 11) projecting into the retaining chambers (3), in each case between two contact springs (5). <IMAGE>
