PURPOSE:To form a uniform and smooth paint coated film over the entire surface and a material to be coated by coating a specific liquid material in the intricately shaped part of the material and subjecting the material to electrostatic powder coating while said liquid material remains tacky. CONSTITUTION:A liquid material, such as benzyl alcohol, acetonyl acetone or the like, having a b.p. in about + or -40 deg.C range with respective to a baking temp. is preliminarily coated in the intricately shaped part, such as corner part, rugged part or the like, of a material to be coated. A powder paint is coated electrostatically over the entire surface of the material while said liquid material remains tacky prior to evaporation, then the powder paint sticks on the intricately shaped part as well similarly to the other plane part, etc. The paint is then baked to form a hard paint coated film. The liquid material scatters gradually to the outside of the paint coated film during this time and a satisfactory and continuous paint coated film is obtd. even by thin film coating.
