Method of controlling the steam quantity for a material to be pressed in a pellet press

The method of controlling the steam quantity which is added to a material to be pressed in a pellet press can be used in devices in which the supply speed of a supply and mixing arrangement, which is arranged between steam-addition location and inlet of the pellet press, is controlled depending upon the loading of the pellet press. In this case, not only is the temperature of the material mixed with the steam measured before the inlet into the pellet press and this measured value used for controlling the steam quantity added, as great fluctuations occur here as a result of the size of the control section. Rather, according to the invention, the supply speed is also used as a parameter for the dimensioning of the steam quantity so that fluctuations of the operating conditions can be kept considerably smaller (Fig. 1). <IMAGE>
