A motor vehicle hybrid drive device has a combustion engine 31, which can be drive-connected on the one hand by way of a clutch 32 and an infinitely variable transmission 12 to the wheels 36 and on the other by way of a drive device 70 and the infinitely variable transmission 12 to a flywheel energy storage device 11. Likewise drive connections can be switched from the flywheel energy storage device 11 by way of the infinitely variable transmission 12 to the drive wheels 36 and from the flywheel energy storage device 11 to the combustion engine 31. This transmission arrangement serves for the purpose of operating the combustion engine 31 as often as possible at the most economic operating point in that in addition to the conversion of brake energy the combustion engine 31 is also used for charging of the flywheel energy storage device 11. <IMAGE>
