PURPOSE:To enable to print with high quality, by a method wherein a solenoid for operating a valve formed of a magnetic material is provided on the outside of an ink container opposed to a magnetic member, and the solenoid is turned ON and OFF by detecting the quantity of an ink in a printing head. CONSTITUTION:An engaging valve 70 for the ink container 25 is provided at the side of nose 19 of a head-holding plate 15, one end part thereof is screwed to the plate 15, while the other end part is bent in an L form, and an engaging groove 73 is provided in a horizontal surface 72 located slightly below the top face of the nose 19. The groove 73 comprises a loosely inserting groove 74 and a fitting hole 75 provided adjacently to each other, a pin 76 is projected on the lower side of the ink container 25 correspondingly to the valve 70, and when the container 25 is fitted to the nose 19 and then rotated clockwise, the pin 76 is fitted into the fitting hole 75 of the engaging groove 73, whereby the container 25 is fixed, and the magnetic member 54 is positioned with respect to an iron core 56 of a valve-driving solenoid 27. When a cylinder 43 of the container 25 is formed from a transparent material, the quantity of a residual ink in the container 25 can be checked at a glance. |
